The Accu-Cut® SRM™ 200 Rotary Microtome is used to thin section in microns the specimen embedded in the paraffin block. Routinely, most specimens are sectioned at 3-5 microns. To accomplish this procedure, the paraffin block the cassette backing is mounted in a moveable chuck. Chuck movement is up and down past a blade edge and front and back movement in given micron increments. Given this movement, the block is sectioned during each pass across the blade edge. The result is a “ribbon” of successive sections each section being “x” number of microns deeper into the block than the preceeding section. Tissue-Tek DRS 2000
The Tissue-Tek® DRS™ 2000 Multiple Slide Stainer was specially developed and constructed for laboratories with a large number of specimen requiring a wide range of staining procedures. Paced acceleration is always on, eliminating operator bias in assessing cell fragility. It will operate at speeds from 200 to 2.500 rpm, adjustable in increments of 10 rpm, for periods from 1 second to 99 minutes and 59 seconds, adjustable in 1 second increments. Three sizes of specimen chambers are available for the unit: 1 mL, 6 mL and 12 mL chambers.
